Pictures are Posted!

Attention bridge runners: the 2011 Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run photos are officially posted to our Flickr account. All photos are FREE to view and print.

As many of you may recall, the start to Labor Day was quite chilly! But, that did not hinder the enthusiasm of bridge runners as they were greeted by Governor Snyder and helped to kick off the Labor Day Bridge Walk. As the eighth annual bridge runners crossed the bridge, a rainbow appeared making the run an even more memorable experience. Congratulations runners!

Thank you again to all sponsors, volunteers and runners for helping to make the 2011 Mackinac Bridge Run a success. Without your dedication and support, this event would not be possible.

We hope that all runners will enter the lottery for the 2012 bridge run. Please email marketingevents@michiganfitness.org to request notification when the lottery opens.

If any runners have photos from the bridge run they would like to share, please send them to marketingevents@michiganfitness.org and we will add them (with photo credit) to our Flickr account.

  1. Awesome pics. But I am Flickr Challenged, How do I download my favorite ones?

    • Hi Mason,
When you are on our Flickr page and you choose a photo you want to download, click the “Actions” tab above the photo. Then, click “View All Sizes” and the option will come up for you to download. Let us know if you have any problems!

  2. The bridge run will be memorable for years to come; unfortunatley, the published photos did not capture each group at the starting line and less at the finish including group pictures. ” A picture is worth a thousand words!”

Thank you for the wonderful experience, I am looking forward to run the bridge again.

    • We’re glad that you enjoyed your bridge run experience! Today, we uploaded additional photos of the group at the finish line to our Flickr account. We also encourage those who took photos at the start, on the bridge or at the finish to send them to us at marketingevents@michiganfitness.org so we can share with others.

      Thank you!

  3. Thanks for the photos! (and the instructions — I couldn’t figure out how to download them either)

  4. Does anyone know if times will be posted?

  5. Are we allowed to post the pics to facebook? Curious about the copyright restrictions I saw. Thanks!

    • Hi Effie,

Feel free to download the photos and use them however you would like! If you are uploading the photos to Facebook you can tag the Michigan Fitness Foundation!

  6. I’m currently training at Art of Strength in West Bloomfield for this years’ Labor Day Run. Have never been much of a fitness guru so they are busting my butt at the best gym in michigan http://www.aoskettlebells.com/
